History
INI is developing, manufacturing and licensing clean portable power components and systems to a wide variety of markets to augment or replace batteries and generators. INI uses methanol – a high energy density and logistically friendly liquid fuel – in a patented microfluidic system to generate power, INI’s products are ideally suited for Consumer Electronic, Industrial, and Safety and Security markets. INI’s core LFFC® concept patent was issued in the US in March 2004, allowed in Korea in 2007, and is patent pending in Japan, the European Union, and Canada. INI has demonstrated proof-of-concept, scalability and performance consistent with commercial operating requirements, achieving performance milestones in 2007. The Company is now actively engaged in product engineering efforts, and is marketing units to commercial and military customers. INI has confirmed purchase orders from a UPS/telecom service provider, a European Defense Agency, and has a Joint Development Partnership with a leading Japanese laptop/battery OEM.

Patent Portfolio
INI has aggressively protected its intellectual property
via its exclusively licensed portfolio from the University
of Illinois as well as company-owned improvements. INI's
core LFFC concept patent was issued in the US in March
2004 and has patent pending applications in Japan, Korea,
the European Union and Canada. Patent protection extends
from the fundamental LFFC concept into the applied areas
of electrochemical performance and electrode structure,
water recovery and management, current collection, and
stack manufacturability.
